McDonalds Play Date!?!?!?!?!
So, Avery and I went to McDonalds this morning for breakfast before I took him and dropped him off at Mothers Day Out!! I'm sure that you have all noticed that if you go to McDonalds between 7:00-9:00 a.m. there is usually a HUGE group of older people sitting around drinking coffee. I used to (up until today) feel so sorry for these people. I thought, "Man, these poor old people have nothing better to do than to come to McDonald's" I wanted to make sure that I never became like that when I got old. So today the whole lobby was PACKED. The only free table was one in the "old people section". Avery and I went and sat over there (there was actually a man there that goes to church with us). I just knew I was going to hear moaning and groaning about this ache and that pain, or poor Avery was going to have his cheeks pinched off. But NONE of that happened. My eyes were opened and when we left and got in the car I started crying over my stupidness. Here is a group of 10 to as many as 30 old people who genuinely love and care about each other. I heard not even one complaintabout their own health. Instead, I heard everyone asking about ****** because he was just put in the hospital with heart problems. The people who hadn't already been to see him were saying they were going as soon as they left McDonalds. They were asking each other how ****** was. He had just been released from the hospital. He had pneumonia, and had to be on oxygen and have breathing treatments, but he was planning on coming (to McDonalds) today, and low and behold, guess who showed up as Avery and I leaving - ****** wheeling in his oxygen tank and smiling from ear to ear at the hugs, kisses, and greeting from his friends. When someone got there, they had to make the rounds between the tables, to make sure and say hi and get hugs from everyone. No one left while we were there. It was as if time didn't matter. Once they were there, they were going to stay and visit with their friends. I can't really express in words the feeling of warmth and love that came from this "group of old people". I think that now instead of calling them a group of old people, I will have to refer to them as the LOVE GROUP!!!!! I also wanted to let you know that I HOPE beyond HOPE that when I get older, I can go to McDonalds EVERY morning to sit around and drink coffee.I love you all!!!! Maybe we can all sit around and drink coffee together!!!!

Update!!
We have been so busy over the last few weeks. I feel like I am running on empty most of the time. I know that I need to get used to it, cause it will only get busier in the coming years. I am preparing myself for that. I have started selling stuff on ebay over the last couple of months, for extra money (gas money!!!). It is going really well, and I am enjoying having something to do that contributes to the family fund, instead of just taking away from it. Our budget last month was the tightest it has ever been. We had to pay for the new van, the sales tax on the van, and our personal property taxes. I was feeling so broke and sorry for myself, then I watched an episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and just cried about my selfishness. It is so easy to get caught up in the greediness of this world, and I am praying every day that God opens my eyes to the blessings that we have. We are all TRULY blessed.
We are going to a birthday party for Claire today. She is one of Lily's friends. Lily is so excited, I'm sure she will take a GREAT nap. When we get home, my plan is to carve a couple of pumpkins. Adam is in the deer woods this weekend, so we will see if I can handle the extreme mess of carving pumpkins by myself!!!! I will definately take pics to share!!!
My uber-talented photographer mother-in-law Ginny took some family pics of us a few weeks ago. I have put them on this post. The ones of the kids and then the ones of Adam with the kids turned out great. I didn't realize how badly my hair need coloring, until I saw the finshed pictures, so I think we are going to take the family ones again, after I touch up my hair!!!
I hope that everyone is doing well!! We love you all!!!!
